Pig & Whistle Historic Pub was once home to the local Police Station, in service from 1940 through till 1969. The building is a classic piece of bold architecture that not only provides a great local landmark with rich history, but the perfect place to enjoy a cold beer and a classic pub meal. The Garden Bar is the perfect spot to whittle away some time, with the open fire blazing over the cooler month. Our booths inside make the perfect spot to enjoy a meal for a date or a catch up with mates. While the big screens showcase the big games from Rugby to Super Bowl.

Choose from the great range of New Zealand Craft Beer + Cider on tap, New Zealand Wines, Cocktails and an impressive Gin List. Join us for Happy Hour 3.30pm till 6pm Monday to Friday, excludes public holidays and enjoy Tap Beer | House Wine | House Spirits | Cocktails at special prices!

Quiz Nights feature every Thursday Night with Live Bands every Saturday Night from 9.30 till late. The Pig & Whistle Team provide a friendly welcome with an extensive Menu to suit everyone’s tastebuds and nutritional needs.

Sustainable Practices & Supply Chains:We have made changes over the years, and adjust to new sustainable practices when possible. All packaging, straws, consumables are sustainable. Food scraps are collected by a Pig farmer, and we have recently enquired to sign up to a pilot program aimed at reducing the industries food waste. We promote tap beer and poured spirits over bottled options to reduce glass waste. The kitchen clean and re-use/ re-purpose containers. Used furniture, goods, items that are replaced are donated to hospice shops, locals charities or organizations to re-use. We support Tipu Wai, a trust led by Gregg Brown, who's mission is to aid in the restoration of our waterways and native fish species and the enhancement of landscape aesthetics by growing & planting 100,000+ locally sourced native seedlings over the coming years.
