About

A little-known hidden gem conveniently located to Auckland within the Gulf, Motuora Island is an absolute cracker of an island to explore, relax and enjoy – either for the day, or extended into an overnight camping excursion.

Simply put, if you haven’t ticked this destination off your bucket list, you haven’t experienced the real Hauraki Gulf!

A picturesque island with reef structure on the Eastern Coast, long white sandy beaches along the western side and a mix of bush and rolling grassy paddocks between, Motuora Island is even home to some treasured kiwi that you might even spot if camping for a night.

Day trips departing Auckland City at 9am and returning by 5pm offer ample time to relax, explore and enjoy whilst the overnight camping option (which includes basic camping gear at no additional cost) extends the amazing experience with a return back to Auckland City around midday on the following day.

Both day trips and overnight trips are perfect for families.

Camping equipment provided includes tent (for up to 4people), sleeping bags, camp rolls, cutlery and crockery, camp chairs and table
